"It was good to have practice in the stadium today because the situation work in the stadium gives the players better reference points. We have gone from learning the routes to putting the plays together to understanding why the plays are put together," Mackovic said.
Mackovic also had some praise for the Wildcat offensive line following today's practice, and he was encouraged by the play of the UA receivers.
"I want to salute the offensive line. We only had five players on the line today, and they did an excellent job of improving from Saturday to today. I am also starting to see the kind of improvement that we need to have with our pass protection," Mackovic said.
"I thought today was the best day that we have had offensively with the receivers and the passing game overall," he added.
The Wildcats are scheduled to return to the practice facility on Thursday afternoon for their 14th session. Arizona is allowed 15 spring practices under NCAA guidelines and will conclude spring drills with the Spring Game on Saturday, April 21, at 1 p.m., in Arizona Stadium.
"We have gotten a lot done during spring practice," Mackovic said. "We went pretty light early on, and now we are able to go heavier at the end. It will be good for us that we will be able to go hard the last four days of practice."
