LOS ANGELES. The 53rd-ranked Arizona men's tennis team fell to 21st-ranked USC, 5-2, Friday, at Mark's Tennis Stadium.
In singles play the Cats earned two wins. Sophomore Tom Lloyd defeated Damien Spizzo, 6-4, 6-4, putting him on a three match winning-streak. At the No. 4 spot, freshman Whi Kim earned beat Ruben Torres, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles play the Bruins won two of the three matches to pick up a match point. At the No. 1 spot, the duo of junior Steven Capriati and Kim fell to 22nd-ranked Ryan Moore and Nick Rainey, 8-5. At the No. 3 spot, the freshman team of Arnaud Agniel and Roeland Brateanu defeated Parker Collins and Nick Rainey, 8-3.
The Wildcats play tomorrow at 1:30 against No. 1 UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif.
