Men's Tennis Duo Beats Top Doubles Team at Pac-10 Championships

OJAI, Calif. Arizona's duo of junior Alex Aybar and senior Jean-Noel LaCoste beat the No. 1 doubles team in the nation, Geoff Abrams and Alex Kim of Stanford, 8-4, in the main draw at the Pac-10 Championships Friday at the Ojai Valley Tennis Club. Aybar and LaCoste advanced to the quarterfinals, falling short to USC's Parker Collins and Andrew Park, 9-8 (5).

In other main draw play, senior Alex Brown and freshman Tom Lloyd fell to Washington's Andy Posavac and Nick Quatrochi, 8-3.

In the invitational doubles draw, Oregon's Jason Menke and Cedric Vanhaver defeated junior Brian Jackson and sophomore Jari Niskala, 8-3, while the duo of sophomore Caleb Marquardt and Aybar fell to Jeff Eicher and Dillon Ruby of Washington, 8-5.
