Sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Monti (Phoenix, AZ/Shadow Mountain HS) recorded her first career shutout on Saturday as the University of Arizona women's soccer team blanked Arkansas-Little Rock, 2-0, in a neutral contest in El Paso.

Sophomore tranfer Katie Winship (San Diego, CA/Carlsbad HS) notched her first goal as a Wildcat barely five minutes into the contest, when her shot was dropped into the net by UALR goalkeeper Kate Ellmo. With just under three minutes remaining in the game, fellow sophomore Tiffany Sabado (Kaneohe, HI/Castle HS) capped the win for Arizona off an assist by junior forward Chrissy Sanford (Newbury, CA/Newbury Park HS).

The Wildcats outshot Arkansas-Little Rock, 20-6, with Monti recording a pair of saves for the Cats and Ellmo collecting 10 for the Trojans. The shutout, Arizona's first of the season, brings to end a three-game losing skid for the Wildcats. It is also the UA's first shutout in 10 games.

Coming off a stretch which saw Arizona play four out of five matches on the road, the Wildcats gladly return home for a pair of games next weekend. The Cats will take on Pepperdine on Friday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m., then they face Wyoming on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played at Murphey Stadium.
