HONOLULU, Hawaii-The University of Arizona's men's golf team fired a third round of 283 to close action at 845 (-19) and in fourth place at the John Burns Intercollegiate in Honolulu on Friday.
The University of New Mexico again carded the low round of the day and finished the tournament in first place, five strokes ahead of second-place Auburn. New Mexico totaled 832 (-32), while Auburn shot 837 (-27) for the tournament.
Individually, sophomore Ricky Barnes led the way for the Wildcats. Barnes carded a third round of 69 and completed action at eight-under-par 208 for the tournament, tied for seventh place. Junior Cody Beyer tied for 16th place at four-under-par 212 for the tournament. Sophomore Reid Hatley shot a third-round of 74 to complete tournament action at two-under-par 214. Two Wildcats finished tied for 25th place with three-day totals of 215 (-1). Freshman Chris Nallen shot a final round of 72, while junior Ben Clark shot 75 on Friday. Rounding out the Arizona lineup was freshman Andy Connell who finished in 75th place at nine-over-par with a total of 225.
The Wildcats are out of action until April 6, when they travel to the U.S. Collegiate Championships being held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
