WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Sept. 17, 2000) -- Arizona junior Laresa Marino was defeated by North Carolina's Amy Hill, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, in the championship match of the green flight on September 17 at the William and Mary Invitational.

In other singles action, Wildcat freshman Sophie Regnier fell to Boston College's Cynthia Tow, 6-2, 6-2. Wake Forest's Aimme Smith topped UA freshman Perrine Pernin, 6-4, 6-3. Arizona senior Joanna Buczkowska earned a fourth round victory in the green flight outlasting Minnesota's Jennifer Howard, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Wildcat junior Lindsay Blau will be in action next weekend, Sept. 21-24, at the ITA Clay Court Championships in Baltimore, Md. Arizona will next compete as a full squad at the Arizona State Invitational, Oct. 6-8.
