OJAI, Calif. - Arizona's doubles team of junior Michelle Gough and sophomore Lindsay Blau earned a spot in the semifinal round of the Pac-10 Championships, Friday, at the Ojai Valley Tennis Center. The ninth-ranked duo in the country defeated Washington's duo of Ilona Kordonskaya and Zeta Wagner, 8-2, in the opening round. The quarterfinal round saw Blau and Gough outlasting California's pair of Caroline Borgensen and Amy Jensen, 9-8.
In singles action, UA sophomore Laresa Marino came up short to UCLA's Catherine Hawley, 6-1, 6-7, 6-3.
In the doubles invitational draw, Wildcat sophomore Brooke Taylor and freshman Siri Fomsgaard advanced to the quarterfinal round before falling to Washington State's duo of Moniek van de Ven and Kathleen Pienaar, 8-2.
Gough and Blau will face UCLA's Abigail Spears and Elizabeth Schmidt Saturday at 12:30 p.m. PDT.
