OKLAHOMA CITY (May 27) - Arizona sophomores Becky Lemke, Lauren Bauer and Nicole Giordano each earned third-team All-America honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association at College World Series banquet ceremonies here Wednesday.

Lemke compiled a 28-7 record with a 1.27 earned run average and with 219 became only the third Wildcat to strike out more than 200 batters in a season. She threw a one-hitter in the NCAA Region 2 title game last Sunday to help put the Cats in their 12th consecutive World Series, the longest current streak in Division I and the second highest total appearances ever.

Bauer, the Cats' left fielder, led the team with a .420 batting average and 42 stolen bases (44 attempts), the No. 3 season total in the Arizona record book. Her two-season batting average is .430.

Giordano, the center fielder, hit .410 and led the team with 63 runs scored and 93 hits. The hits total is No. 9 in UA's single-season record book. She stole 24 bases in 28 attempts.

The trio gave Arizona coach Mike Candrea 49 All-America player honors in his 14 seasons as Wildcat coach.
