TUCSON, Ariz. - The 58th-ranked University of Arizona Men's tennis team fell to seventh-ranked Stanford, 5-2, Friday at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.

In doubles play, the Cats won one out of three matches. At the No. 1 spot, the duo of junior Steven Capriati and freshman Carl Hagman beat Alex Kim and K.J. Hippensteel, 8-5. The Cardinal clinched the doubles point at the No. 2 spot when the team of freshman Whi Kim and sophomore Tom Lloyd fell short against fifth-ranked David Martin and Scott Lipsky, 9-8(3).

Arizona's two match points came against ranked opponents in singles play. At the No. 3 spot, Hagman upset 23rd-rankd Martin, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. At the fourth position, Kim earned a win against 78th-ranked Ryan Haviland, 6-3, 7-6(4).

The Wildcats play tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. against No. 30 California, at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
