Volleyball: Burkholder, DaLee Earn All-District Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. - Setter Dana Burkholder and middle blocker Marisa DaLee have been named to the All-District 8 volleyball team, announced Wednesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Burkholder, a sophomore from Bakersfield, Calif., is on pace to break Arizona's single-season record for assists per game, averaging 12.92. DaLee, a junior from Phoenix, holds the Cats' career record for hitting percentage at .379. Both players are now eligible for All-America honors which will be announced Dec. 15. They are the first Wildcats to earn All-District honors since current UA assistant coach Charita Johnson in 1994.

The 12-person District 8 team includes players from the Pac-10, the West Coast Conference and the Big Sky Conference.

The 18th-ranked Wildcats will take on No. 2 Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif., in the Pacific Region semifinals Thursday around 8:30 p.m. MST.
