Eugene, Ore. (Oct. 8) - The University of Arizona women's soccer team was blanked by Oregon, 2-0, in a Pac-10 contest in Eugene on Sunday.
The Ducks scored their first goal at in the 29th minute then notched the second with just 15 seconds remaining in the first half. Neither team scored in the second half.
Oregon held a 22-15 advantage over the Cats in the shots category. Wildcat junior KRISTI LOROÑA had a game-high-tying five shots, while TWILA KAUFMAN, LIZ BARTLETT and MEAGHAN McNATT had a pair of shots apiece.
UA junior goalkeeper SHANNON MONTI played all 90 minutes for the Cats, collecting 10 saves and allowing both Oregon goals.
The loss drops Arizona to 3-7-2 overall and 0-1-1 in Pac-10 play, while Oregon improves to 4-9-0 overall and 1-1-0 in conference action.
The Wildcats return home to face Washington State on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. and Washington on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m.
