Men's Tennis Wins Fourth Match of Season Against Utah

TUCSON, Ariz. - The 49th-ranked University of Arizona Men's tennis team earned their fourth win of the season against Utah, 6-1, Monday at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.

Arizona (4-1 overall, 0-1 Pacific-10) won all six singles matches. At the No. 1 position, junior Steven Capriati beat Dave Mercier, 6-3, 6-1. Freshman Whi Kim defeated Daniel Carlsson at the No. 4 spot, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, leaving him undefeated (5-0) in dual matches. Kim is on a seven match winning streak.

Senior Jari Niskala clinched the match at the No. 5 spot, defeating Corrie Sheepers, 6-4, 6-4. In doubles play the Utes swept the Cats picking up a match point.

The Wildcats next play in Irvine, Calif., Friday, Feb. 16, against UC Irvine at 1:30 p.m.
