TUCSON, Ariz. - The 58th-ranked University of Arizona Men's tennis (10-6 overall, 1-5 Pac-10) team upset 30th-ranked California, 4-3, Saturday at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.

In doubles play, at the No. 2 spot, the duo of sophomore Tom Lloyd and freshman Whi Kim defeated John Paul Fruttero and Robert Kowalczyk, 9-8(3). At the No. 1 spot, junior Steven Capriati and freshman Carl Hagman fell to No. 45 Adrian Barnes and Scott Kintz, 8-4. At the No. 3 spot the freshman team of Arnaud Agniel and Roeland Brateanu fell to Ben Miles and Balazs Veress, 8-5, to pick up a match point.

In singles play, the Cat's won four out of five matches. At the No. 1 spot, Capriati beat No. 25 Fruttero. At the fourth spot, Kim earned his second win this weekend, against Kintz, 6-2, 6-3. Senior Jari Niskala defeated Kowalczyk, 6-4, 6-3, at the fifth spot. At the No. 3 spot, Hagman defeated 66th-ranked Barnes, 7-5, 6-7, 7-5, to clinch the match for the Cats.

The Wildcats play Washington Friday, April 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
