"Ralph Miller was an outstanding gentleman and a highly-respected coach that I truly enjoyed competing against. His teams never beat themselves. You always had to play your best to beat them. He was one of the finest fundamental coaches that I've seen and was very much an innovator with his pressure defense.
"Having followed him at the University of Iowa, I know that Iowans always spoke fondly of two things: the 1955 and `56 teams that advanced to the Final Four and his 1970 team that went 14-0 in the Big 10. Both of those were tremendous accomplishments. He always did a great job."
