PHOENIX (Feb. 11, 2001) -- Arizona senior third baseman Toni Mascarenas helped the No. 3 ranked Wildcats cruise through six games at the Fiesta Bowl Tournament and improve to 10-0 on the season.

Macarenas collected 11 hits in 16 at bats during the weekend, including five home runs and three doubles, and drove in 15 runs during the Cats' amazing offensive and pitching display at the tournament.

She also stole two bases, plus walked a couple of times to post a .762 on-base average in UA's games. Her slugging percentage over the span was 1.812 and she scored ten times.

Arizona allowed only four runs in the six games -- all by Nebraska on a pair of two-run homers -- and those are the only runs scored against the Cats in the 10 games this season. UA has a 0.23 earned run average.

Mascarenas' .688 weekend boosted her season average to .517. She has seven homers and 20 RBI in 10 games.

UA beat Georgia 8-0, Texas 14-0, LSU 10-0, Nebraska 11-4, South Carolina 8-0 and Missouri 8-0 Friday through Sunday to sweep through Arizona State's annual winter tournament featuring top teams from around the country.
