The UA will hold a welcome home rally at Arizona Stadium for the basketball team, win or lose, on Tuesday, April 3 at 1:30 p.m. Gates 1-9 on the eastside of the stadium will open at 11 a.m.
Concessions will be available. Wildcat highlights will be displayed on the giant stadium screen. The Wildcat Band and cheerleaders will be on hand during the rally.
Real Wildcats, a song created by a local rap group will be performed live. KAMP Radio, the student-run campus radio station will provide additional entertainment.
SunTran will operate bus shuttles from the Tucson Convention Center (TCC) to Arizona Stadium. Parking on campus is by permit only and limited spaces are available. Fans are asked not to park in the surrounding neighborhoods. Most neighborhood streets adjacent to campus require a city permit during the day.
The team is expected to return from Minneapolis at approximately 12 p.m. on Tuesday on a chartered flight at Tucson International Airport. There will be no access to the team at the airport, so fans are asked to join the team at Arizona Stadium for the rally.
There will be a motorcade celebration to bring the team and staff members to the stadium with cars donated by Steve Christy Chrysler. The parade route will follow from the freight landing area at TIA to Tucson Boulevard, up Tucson Boulevard to Valencia, from Valencia to Palo Verde which becomes Alvernon Way, from Alvernon to Broadway Boulevard, from Broadway to Campbell Avenue, from Campbell to Enke and into Arizona Stadium.
