Wildcats Finish Fifth at Stanford Intercollegiate

Tulsa takes team and individual prize

STANFORD, Calif., The second ranked University of Arizona women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Stanford/Pepsi Intercollegiate tournament with a team score of 26-over-par 890. The tournament was held at the Stanford Golf Course(Par 72, 6,154 yards).

Junior Jenna Daniels moved up ten places to finish tied for eighth, scoring a 2-over-par 218, while senior Jill Gomric finished tied for 10th place with a 4-over-par 220. Sophomore Cristina Baena jumped 18 spots to finish in 17th place (7-over-par 223) and freshman Julia Kraschinski shot a 15-over-par 231 finishing in 51st place. Junior Christina Monteiro rounds out the UA lineup in 65th place posting a score of 19-over-par 235.

Tulsa won both the team and individual race followed by Pepperdine, Arizona State and New Mexico State.

The next outing for the Wildcats is the Golf World Invitational in Hilton Head, S.C. from Nov. 5-7, 1999.
