TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona women’s golf team is ranked No. 1 in the latest edition of the Golf World College Golf Coaches Poll, scheduled to appear in the March 2nd issue of the magazine.

With back-to-back wins at the TRW Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif., and the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., the Wildcats garnered 420 points and 12 of the 17 available first-place votes. Arizona replaces the Duke Blue Devils in the No. 1 spot in the coaches poll.

Arizona wrapped up fall play in the No. 2 spot of the coaches poll. The poll of women’s Division I coaches ranks the best collegiate teams for the 2000-2001 season.

The Wildcats are out of action until March 27 when they travel to Honolulu for the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
