Junior forward Richard Jefferson:
"The crowd was definitely pumped up. We always have a good crowd here. They're pumped up no matter who is here. I had a huge week of practice. I talked a lot with a lot of people who are close to me. I really needed to start being more aggressive."
"Tonight I just found the offensive rhythm. Credit goes to a lot of guys on our team, they were knocking down some big shots. I needed to make teams be more honest out there on me."
"We're starting to get in a groove. We're taking small steps, but those turn into big steps. We have a journey and a few bumps in the road won't stop us from reaching our goal this year."
Senior center Loren Woods:
"Whatever the team needs, that's what I'll do. It was a good win. We still have to play them in Los Angeles. And we've got a big game on Saturday. It's early, so we need to get some rest."
On Coach Olson and Coach Rosborough:
"It's good for us to have two good like that on our side."
"We are nowhere near the team we could be. UCLA always brings a lot of hyper people into this arena. They are a good team, they beat USC and they're going to think they can beat us."
"I was fortunate (Brian) Scalabrine didn't run off for 28 points like he did twice last year."
Sophomore guard Jason Gardner:
"I think there's a different feel with Coach Olson back. But Coach Roz (associate head coach Jim Rosborough) and the other coaches did an excellent job."
"We made the extra pass. A lot of it is that we're being unselfish and it's carrying over. They are a good team, it's good for us to beat a good team."
