TUCSON, Ariz.- The fifth-ranked Arizona volleyball team swept its fifth consecutive match of the season with a 3-0 win over previously undefeated Louisville (4-1) in the final match of the Four Points University Plaza Wildcat Classic, Saturday afternoon. Game scores were 30-28, 30-19, 30-28. The Wildcats captured their 13th all-time classic title in 17 tries.

Arizona's play at the net set the tone for the match as the Wildcats out-blocked Louisville 12-4. Led by middle blockers Erin Sebbas and Stefani Saragosa, who tallied six and five total blocks, respectively, Arizona had 18 block assists to the Cardinals six and three solo blocks to UL's one.

Setter Dana Burkholder, the Classic MVP, dished out 41 assists in the win and also had six kills, seven digs and five total blocks. Junior Lisa Rutledge led all players with 14 kills on 37 attempts and also had six digs. Classmate Shannon Torregrosa was the only other Wildcat to figure in double digit kills with 12. Senior Jill Talbot continued to impress the opposition with nine kills, seven digs and four total blocks.

Arizona's back row played well in the victory as six players finished the match with six or more digs. Freshman Kelli Mulvany made several spectacular digs on hard hit balls and also chipped in with a match-high three service aces.

Arizona's five straight sweeps to start 2001 equals the school record for consecutive games without a loss to open a season. The 1996 squad began its campaign by winning 15 straight games as well.

Joining Burkholder on the all-classic team were UA's Rutledge, Talbot and Torregrosa, Utah's Kim Turner and Linda Urbanova and Louisville's Sonja Percan.

The Wildcats (5-0) leave the non-conference schedule behind next week with a road trip to the San Francisco Bay for a Friday-Saturday match-up with ninth-ranked Stanford and California. Arizona swept the pair on the road last year. Match times are both set for 7 p.m.
