 TUCSON -  The University of Arizona Wildcats No. 20 men's and No. 3 women's track and field teams will compete in the Stanford Invitational and head to Palo Alto, Calif. The meet will take place on March 29-30 at Cobb Track and Angell Field. On Friday, competition is set to start at 11 a.m. PDT. Saturday's competition will begin at 12:10 p.m.

Arizona will compete against California (NR), Florida (M: 3, W: 7), Indiana (M: 18, W: NR), Minnesota (M: 19, W: NR), Oregon (M: 6, W: 2) Stanford (M: NR, W: 9), Wisconsin (M: 7, W: NR) and many others.

In the 2013 USTFCCCA preseason outdoor national poll, the Arizona men sit in the No. 20 spot while the women are No. 3. UA's women are joined in the national poll by seven other Pac-12 schools. Oregon is No. 2, Arizona State is No. 8, Stanford sits at No. 9, Washington holds the No. 18 spot, Colorado is No. 22, USC sits in the No. 23 spot and UCLA is No. 24. On the men's side, Arizona is accompanied by four Pac-12 schools. Oregon is sixth, USC is ranked eighth, UCLA sits in 12th and Arizona State is 15th.

For the men's side on Friday, junior Sean Delfani will run 400 meters at 5 p.m. PDT. Sophomore Jonas Legernes will run the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 6:12 p.m. The preliminary round of the 110-meter hurdles will take place on Friday at 12:06 p.m. with sophomore Lezo Urreiztieta representing Arizona. At 1:46 p.m., senior Elliot Taylor and sophomore Thomas Moronta will run in the 100-meter-dash final. Senior Clifton Leake will compete in the 400-meter hurdles race at 3:20 p.m. At 8:05 p.m., sophomore Sam Macaluso will run the 5,000-meter race.

For the field events on Friday, senior Edgar Rivera-Morales and freshman Jonny Giess will compete in the high jump at 1 p.m. Prior to the high jump; Giess will throw the javelin at 9 a.m.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team will consist of Delfani, Leake, Taylor and Moronta. That race will take place at 12:18 p.m. on Saturday. Leake, Delfani and Moronta will compete in the 200-meter sprint at 2:25 p.m. The quartet of Leake, Delfani, Urreiztieta and senior Tyler Johnson will throw the hammer at 2 p.m.

The women's slate on Friday includes juniors Shale' Garland, senior Georganne Moline and junior Tamara Pridgett will compete in the 400-meter run at 4:45 p.m. Sophomore Nicci Corbin will run 1,500 meters in the invitational section at 6:32 p.m. Sophomore Clea Formaz will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 5:45 p.m. Senior Jen Bergman will run the 10K at 8:48 p.m. Freshman Traci-Lynn Hicks is set for the preliminary round of the 100-meter hurdles that begin at 11:45 a.m.

For the field events on Friday, senior Brigetta Barrett and sophomore Shakayla McEaddy will compete in the high jump at 3 p.m. Freshman Moriah Hayes will long jump at 11:30 a.m. The invitational section of the shot put will include Arizona's seniors Taylor Freeman and Alyssa Hasslen, juniors Julie Labonté and Omotayo Talabi and sophomore Baillie Gibson. Freeman and Gibson will also throw the hammer on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

At 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, Garland, Moline, Poston and Romero will run the 200-meter dash. The quartet of Hicks, Romero, Pridgett and Poston will compete in the 4x100-meter relay at 12:10 p.m. In the 4x400-meter relay, UA will be represented by Romero, Garland, Pridgett and Moline. The invitational section of the women's discus, including Freeman, Hasslen, Labonté and Gibson, will take place on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
