SOPHOMORE (1999-2000): At the 2000 NCAA Championships, earned seven first-team All-America honors in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, 800 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay... Won the 800 free relay with a time of 7:55.51... Finished second in the 400 free relay (3:38.89)... Came in second in the 200 free (1:57.59)... Runner-up in the 400 medley relay (3:58.47)... Placed third in the 200 free relay (1:40.61)... Swam to a sixth place finish in the 100 free (55.13)... Finished eighth in the 400 free (4:13.58)... At the 2000 Pac-10 Championships, was crowned champion in the 200 free (1:46.86)... Finished second in the 500 free (4:42.86)... Came in third in the 100 free (50.00)... Holds the school's record times in the 800y free relay (7:06.05) and 400y medley relay (3:33.66)... Has the school's fastest times in the 400y free relay (3:16.12), 200y free relay (1:29.78), 100y free (49.39) and 200y free (1:45.36)... Swam the school's second-fastest time in the 400y free (4:43.86) and the school's third-fastest time in the 800m free (8:51.60).
1999 PAN PACIFIC GAMES: At the 1999 Pan Pacific Games in Sydney, Australia, two current Wildcats showcased their skills as members of the United States squad, while another competed for South Africa... The competition took place Aug. 23-29, at the Olympic swimming venue that was used during the 2000 Olympic Games... Tolar placed in all three events that she entered... Tolar's biggest accomplishment of the weekend came when she advanced to the finals of the 200m freestyle on day three and finished in seventh-place overall by clocking in at 2:01.14... On day two, Tolar swam a 4:22.39 in the 400m freestyle, finishing in 16th place, and on day five she finished 10th in the 100m freestyle (56.77).
FRESHMAN (1998-99): Won a national title as a member of the 400 free relay squad, along with teammates Farella, Knapp and Mastin, in a time of 3:16.49... Also earned three additional first-team All-America nods in the 200 free (second place-1:45.71); 200 free relay (seventh place-1:31.12) and 800 free relay (second place-7:09.19)... Honorable mention All-America honors in the 100 free (10th place-49.72) and the 500 free (16th place-4:53.05)... Led team, along with teammate Lindsey Farella, with six total All-American selections in 1999... Led the Arizona squad at the 1999 NCAAs, by competing in seven separate events... Set the school record in the 200 free (1:45.14) at the Texas Invitational, bettering Ashley Tappin's 1995 time of 1:45.23... At the 1999 Pac-10 Championships, placed sixth in the finals of the 500 free (4:48.65)... Ended the season with the top Arizona times in the 200 free (1:45.14) and the 500 free (4:42.19) and the second-fastest 100 free (49.42) time.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters for coach Connie Mickelson at Dobson High School in Mesa, Ariz... Team captain in 1998... First place in the 200 free (1:50.20) at the 1995 Spring Junior Nationals... Won the Mythical National Championship in 1996 in the 200 free (1:48.3)... Holds high school and the 15-16 year-old state record in the 200 free (1:48.3)... Placed fourth at the 1998 Summer Senior Nationals in the 200 free (2:01.28)... Third-place finisher at the Spring 1998 Senior Nationals in the 100 free (56.55) and 200 free (2:02.33)... Finished fourth in the 200m free at the 1998 P66 Summer Nationals, qualifying for the 1999 Pan Pacific team... Bronze medalist in both the 100m and 200m free at P66 Spring Nationals... Won the 200m free at 1995 Junior Nationals.
