Pac-12 All-Conference Team Get Acrobat Reader

TUCSON, Ariz.Sophomore outside hitter Madi Kingdon (Phoenix, Ariz.) was named honorable mention All-Pac-12, while freshmen Halli Amaro (Los Alamitos, Calif.) and Olivia Magill (Seattle, Wash.) earned honorable mention all-freshman honors, the league announced on Tuesday.

Kingdon, who was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team a year ago, led the Wildcats with 443 kills at 3.96 kills per set and 486.5 points (4.34 k/s). The 443 kills ranks as the 10th most in school history for a single season. Kingdon also finished second on the squad with 319 digs (2.85 p/s). She also recorded 44 blocks and 16 service aces. Kingdon had 10 or more kills in 26 matches, which ranks as the ninth most in school history for a single season. She also finished with 13 double-doubles – the third most in the Pac-12 this season.

Amaro and Magill both had a strong first season at the U of A. Amaro recorded 254 kills (2.25 k/s) while hitting a solid .291. In addition, she finished second on the squad with 100 blocks (0.88 b/s), while she was one of only three players to play all 113 sets this season for the Cats.

Magill led the Wildcats with 104 blocks (1.13 b/s) on the season. She recorded 144 kills and hit an efficient .328, which ranked second on the team behind Rachel Rhoades’ .341 hitting percentage. Magill’s .328 hitting efficiency ranked 10th in the Pac-12.

Alaina Bergsma of Oregon earned Pac-12 Player of the Year honors after leading the league in both kills and points. Samantha Bricio of USC was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year after leading the league in service aces and ranking in the top-five in kills and points. Oregon’s Lauren Plum was named Setter of the Year as she led the nation in assists with 13.25 per set. Natalie Hagglund of USC earned Libero of the Year after pacing the league in digs with 5.09 per set. Meanwhile, Stanford head coach John Dunning earned Pac-12 Coach of the Year after leading the Cardinal to a Pac-12 title.
