Niki Trowell singled in a run in the top of the eighth to give South Florida a 3-2 victory over Louisville in second-day action of the Pepsi Arizona Softball Classic.
The Bulls improved to 5-8-1 overall and 2-1 in tournament play. The Cardinals dropped to 1-6 and 1-2.
Stephanie Roberts singled in the first for the Bulls and later scored on a single by Holly Groves to give USF the first lead.
Sara Bauscher's two-out solo home run for Louisville tied the game in the third. Bauscher's single up the middle scored another run in the fifth, driving in Kristi Rozelle, who had singled to open the inning.
USF tied the game in the top of the seventh after Rachel Williams was hit by a pitch, moved to third on two ground ball outs and scored on a single by Ginny Georgantas.
