Box Score

SEATTLE -- No. 1 Washington scored four runs in the second inning and Danielle Lawrie posted double-digit strikeout numbers en route to a 7-0 win over Arizona on Saturday afternoon.

UA could only muster two hits off Lawrie (22-1), who shut down the nation's top-ranked scoring offense for the second consecutive game. The senior from Langley, British Columbia tallied 12 strikeouts, two shy of her mark from yesterday.

With the loss, the Cats dropped to 32-6 overall and 2-3 in league play.

UW (32-3, 4-1 Pac-10) got started early, as Shawna Wright hit a two-run home run following an error in the second. An RBI single by Bailey Stenson and a bases-loaded walk by Lawrie gave the Huskies a 4-0 lead.

Kenzie Fowler (21-4) was relieved by Sarah Akamine going into the third, after having given up two earned runs on three hits. Akamine was touched up for three runs on five hits.

Jerrin Fa'asua hit a three-run homer in the sixth off the senior, capping the scoring, while Lawrie struck out the side in the top of the seventh.

UA will face Washington tomorrow at Noon.
