TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona is the top-rated women's golf team in the country, according to the latest edition of the Golfweek/Sagarin performance index released Monday. Wildcat sophomore Miriam Kraschinski stands third in the individual ratings.

With a team victory at the NCAA Fall Preview and a second-place performance under its collective belt, Arizona received a computer rating of 71.84. Behind the Wildcats in the poll's second spot is Oklahoma State at 71.92. Vanderbilt, Auburn and Duke round out the top five.

Joining Kraschinski in the top 15 is Arizona freshman Erica Blasberg. Rated 13th, the former junior golf All-American from Corona, Calif., holds a rating of 71.28. Kraschinski's rating is 70.49. Katherine Hull of Pepperdine is the nation's top-rated golfer.

In its first event of the season, Arizona took home the title at the NCAA Fall Preview where it squared off against the top finishers at last year's NCAA Championships. The Wildcats currently own a team stroke average of 296.00 (+8) per round. As a team this season, Arizona has four top-five finishes and four top-25 finishes.

Kraschinski, the highest-rated Wildcat, earned her first career win at the season-opening NCAA Fall Preview where she posted a three-day total of 1-under-par 215, a career-best performance. She followed her victory with a top-five finish at the Mason Rudolph Championships, tying for fifth place at 6-over-par 222.

Blasberg, in just six career collegiate rounds, has already carded three rounds of par or better. She stands second on the team with a stroke average of 73.66. Blasberg was Arizona's best finisher at the Mason Rudolph Championships where she took second place.

Arizona is out of action until Oct. 18 when it will travel to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Stanford/Pepsi Women's Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course.
