TUCSON , Ariz. (AP) ?C ?Ashley Whisonant scored 12 of her 17 points in the second half to lead Arizona to a 71-63 victory over Oregon State on Saturday, giving the Wildcatsˇ? their first back-to-back Pac-10 victories in three years.

Whisonant, who didnˇ?t play the last 11 minutes of the first half after hitting the court hard on a drive, continually made driving shots to keep Oregon State at bay.

The guard had a pair of driving lay-ins and then a three-pointer to give Arizona a 66-59 lead with 6:47 remaining.

Arizona (9-13, 3-8) also received 16 points apiece from Rheya Neabors and Amina Njonkou. Ify Ibekwe added 14.

Ashley Allen led Oregon State (10-12, 3-8) with 17 points, while Talisa Rhea and Cedes Fox-Griffin added 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Allenˇ?s jumper with 7:17 remaining closed the gap to 63-59 but the Beavers were held to just four points the rest of the game and only one field goal, with that coming with a second left in the game.

Allen connected on a three-pointer to close an Arizona 11 point lead to

56-53 with 11:20 left.

Arizona took a 52-41 lead with 14:48 left by outscoring the Beavers 15-4 to open the second half, concluding with a three-pointer from Neabors and a steal and lay-up by Whisonant.

Rhea scored eight straight, including a pair of three pointers, to give the Beavers a two-point lead before Njonkou scored before the halftime buzzer to tie the game at 37-37. ?
