TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona sealed its preparation efforts for the second scrimmage of preseason camp with a two-hour workout in shells Friday afternoon at Kindall Field/Sancet Stadium.
“After the scrimmage tomorrow we will get a little better idea of our two-deep on Sunday when the coaches meet,” head coach Rich Rodriguez said.
The practice took place on the coolest day of camp with temperatures in the mid-70s and also featured some light rain showers. After going through traditional individual drills at the beginning of the session, UA dedicated time to special teams. Following the special teams work, the squad returned to individual drills, which included a session of skeleton drills.
The final portion of practice was dedicated to situational team-on-team sessions. The team session featured the two-minute drill that enabled the Wildcats to address clock management and substitution rotations in an up-tempo environment.
Arizona will hold its final scrimmage of preseason camp on Saturday at Arizona Stadium. The scrimmage is closed to the public and the media. The Arizona football team will host Meet The Team on Sunday at McKale Center. Doors will open at 11 a.m., the official program will begin at 12 p.m. and the autograph session will be held 12:30-1:30 p.m.
