TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf junior varsity team finished in 14th place Friday at the Del Walker Intercollegiate in Long Beach, Calif.
The Wildcat JV posted a closing 300 (+16) and finished with an 892 (+40) total to finish 14th in the 15-team field. Colorado State topped the field by 23 strokes with a 41-under 811 total.
Freshman Philip Bagdade led Arizona with a four-over 217 tally. The Eugene, Ore., native posted UA's low score in each of the last two rounds, including a two-over 73 today. Bagdade's 217 tournament total was a career low.
John Kostis tied for a season-best 47th place at seven-over 220. Teammate Kenji Hernandez tied for 65th place at 16-over 229, two strokes ahead of Peter Croonquist, who finished in 67th place. Nicholas Park, who carded a one-over 73 Friday, did not place in the event after not participating in the first round.
The Del Walker Intercollegiate was contested at the Virginia Country Club, a par-71, 6,633-yard layout.
