Four Cats Earn Academic Honor

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Four members of the Arizona men's tennis team earned a Pac-10 All-Academic citation, as announced Monday by Commissioner Tom Hansen.

Junior Ravid Hazi made the first team, sophomore Andres Carrasco made the second team and junior Pat Metham and sophomore Jay Goldman earned honorable mention selections.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or a significant contributor.

Hazi, who primarily play at position No. 4, compiled a 3.63 GPA in Finance.

Carrasco, who played at position No. 3 and led the team in single's victories, earned a 3.47 GPA in Pre-Communication.

Metham, who played at position No. 5 in singles and No. 1 in doubles, and Goldman, who played at position No. 1 in singles, were both recognized for their hard work in the classroom by earning honorable mention selections.
