WACO, Texas ?- The Wildcat women’s tennis team completed play at the Baylor Invitational, finishing the tournament with two wins and one loss on the final day.

Senior Dianne Hollands, ranked No. 7 in the nation, won the Gold Back Draw tournament with her final round victory over Tulsa’s Lisette Pereira 6-0, 6-1.  Hollands advanced to the final round with her 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 semifinal victory over Baylor’s Iva Mihaylova, also coming on the tournament’s final day.  With the victories, Hollands now has a four-match win streak, following her loss coming in her first match of the year.

Junior-transfer Stephanie Balzert, wrapped up her return to Baylor with her 1-6; 6-1; 7-6 roller coaster of a loss.  Balzert’s semifinal match came against Georgia Tech’s Lindsey Stauss, who followed the victory over Balzert with a runner-up finish to her Yellow Jacket teammate Daria Potapova in the Green Back Draw bracket.  Balzert lost her first match as a Wildcat on Sept. 17, but won her first two matches in the Green Back Draw before falling to Stauss.

Senior Maja Mlakar, the only Wildcat on the trip not to play on the final day, lost to Tulsa’s Daniela Muscolino in the singles’ open bracket round of 16 on Sept. 18.

Arizona will next play in Philadelphia at the Cissie Leary Invitational Sept. 24-26.
