SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 15 Arizona volleyball team placed second in the Bronco Invitational with a 3-1 (31-29, 30-25, 19-30, 30-23) win over Fresno State this afternoon. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 5-1 on the season.
Senior Kim Glass was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 4.64 kills, 3.18 digs, 0.55 service aces and 0.45 blocks over the three matches.
Arizona hit .157 on the match, compared to the .160 of the Bulldogs. However, the Wildcats out-blocked Fresno State 15-9.
Glass led all players with 24 kills, 16 digs, three blocks and three service aces on the match. Fellow senior Jennifer Abernathy was one kill shy of a double-double, finishing with 20 digs, nine kills and four blocks. Senior Bre Ladd added 10 kills.
Sophomore Dominique Lamb posted a career-high 10 blocks on the match, while freshman Brittany Leonard finished with a career-high 27 digs. Sophomore setter Amy Dyck tallied a career-high 49 assists, to go along with six blocks and five digs.
UP NEXT: Arizona travels to Kingston, R.I. for the Rhode Island Invitational next Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17. The Wildcats face Connecticut at 1 p.m. Friday, followed by a 7 p.m. match against host Rhode Island. On Saturday, Arizona plays North Carolina at noon. All times are Eastern.
