Arizona and Long Beach State will meet for the 20th time on Sunday. The 49ers hold a 14-5 record over the Wildcats. The last meeting between the two teams came Dec. 14, 2008, in Tucson, with UA beating LBSU, 56-47. Arizona has won five straight against Long Beach State.
Arizona is 7-1 on the season, including 2-0 at home. The Cats are paced by sophomore guard Davellyn Whyte's 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. She is backed up by sophomore guard Candice Warthen's 16.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game and sophomore forward Erica Barnes' 13.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Senior guard Shanita Arnold hands out 4.8 assists per game.
Long Beach State is 3-6 on the season, including 1-6 on the road. The 49ers are led by Tipesa Moorer's 11.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Ella Clark chips in with 9.3 points and 6.0 boards per contest as Alex Sanchez also averages 9.4 points per outing. LBSU averages 60.7 points per game as a team while shooting 34.1 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from three-point range and 66.9 percent from the free throw line.
Arizona ranks in the top three in the Pac-12 in scoring offense (78.1), free throw percentage (.707), three point field goal percentage (.404), turnover margin (3.9), offensive rebound percentage (.396) and three point field gal made (7.5).
