TUCSON, Ariz.- The 17th-ranked Arizona volleyball team (6-6, 1-3 Pac-10) dropped a five-game match to No. 19 Washington State (12-2, 3-2 Pac-10) in Pullman, Wash., on Thursday. Game scores were 30-28, 22-30, 30-24, 26-30, 11-15. The loss snapped an eight-match winning streak the Wildcats held over the Cougars and was the third straight defeat for Arizona in the past two weeks.

Freshman sensation Kim Glass posted an outstanding night for Arizona in the defeat. The first-year Wildcat racked up a career-high 30 kills on .423 hitting and also added 12 digs and four total blocks on the night. With the outing, Glass became just the eighth player in school history to record 30 or more kills in a match and the first since Allison Napier nailed home 34 in the 2000 season.

The tight match saw the Wildcats and Cougars post similar hitting percentages in the match. WSU hit .275 to Arizona's .269, but the Cougars blistered the Bohler Gym floor in the decisive fourth and fifth games with hitting percentages of .515 and .556, respectively. The Wildcats tallied 75 kills to WSU's 72, out-dug them 72 to 56 and out-blocked them 12.5 to 10, yet were unable to pull off the win.

In addition to Glass' outstanding night, senior Lisa Rutledge chipped in with 27 kills and a match-high 18 digs for UA. Senior setter Laurie Gardner dished out 66 assists and came up with eight digs in the loss.

The fine individual efforts on behalf of the Wildcats couldn't counter the balance of the Washington State attack. Led by Holly Harris' 17 kills, four different Cougars finished the night in double digits. Cougar setter Brenn Larson recorded 60 assists to go along with her team-high 15 digs in the win.

Arizona will look to quell its longest losing streak in three years on Friday against the Washington Huskies in Seattle. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
