TUCSON, Ariz. ?- The second-seeded Arizona softball team will have the benefit of staying in Tucson for another week.  The NCAA announced Arizona as one of the eight Super Regional sites on Sunday, the last round before the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.

The Wildcats will begin its best-of-three series against 15th-seeded LSU at 5 p.m. (MST/PDT) Friday, May 26.  Game two is slated for 6 p.m. Saturday, May 27, with game three to begin at 8:30 p.m. if Arizona and LSU had split the first two contests.

All three games will be televised live on ESPNU.

Arizona is one of four Pac-10 teams accorded a Super Regional site and one of seven league teams -- each chosen for the round of 64 -- to qualify for the final 16. UCLA, Oregon State and Arizona State also will host, while Washington travels to Texas, Stanford plays at Alabama and California gets a bit more familiar trip to Corvallis where the Beavers are hosts.

Arizona is aiming for its 18th trip to the WCWS in the last 19 years, and can make it happen with a pair of wins over the Tigers.

The Wildcats reached the Super Regional round with victories over Marist, Ohio State and Auburn in last weekend’s Tucson Regional.  LSU advanced with a win over Princeton and two victories over Louisiana-Lafayette in the Baton Rouge Regional.
