PALO ALTO, Calif. -- The ninth-seeded Arizona softball team has arrived in Palo Alto with at least two games against eighth-seeded Stanford on the horizon in the Super Regional round of the 2009 NCAA Softball Championship.
The winner of the Super Regional will advance to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.
The team departed McKale Center at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning and boarded a 9:50 a.m. flight to San Jose, with a stop in Las Vegas. After landing at Mineta San Jose International Airport just after 1 p.m., the team headed to their hotel located next to the Stanford campus.
The Cats practiced at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Jill and Boyd Smith Family Stadium on the campus of Stanford University, and finished up their workout around 8:30 p.m.
Up Next: UA will take on Stanford in Game One of the Super Regional at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening. The game will be broadcast to a national audience on ESPN2.
