Hey Gymcat fans!

I hope you are all as excited as I am for this coming season! We all worked very hard at home over summer (for me that’s here in Tucson), and it was so exciting to return and get all my friends back in the gym at the same time.

The atmosphere at practice is fierce and determined. I know my teammates and I feed off of this type of energy. The freshmen really seem to love it, and man did they fit in right away! They are such great gymnasts, and are a great addition to the Gymcat family – no doubt about it. Each one of them brings something new and vital to our team, and although they are young, they’re going to make a huge impact this season.

Mandatory practices have not started yet but we are in the gym and weight room grinding almost every day. We’re working hard to make this season one to remember. Being a senior - man that’s scary huh? - I have very high expectations for the upcoming competition. Our team motto this year is to “cross the line” and “be 212.” This means that we all have bought in to do everything we can to cross that line of average and prove we can live up to our potential. 212 is the temperature where water turns to steam and with steam you can power a train. For us, this year is all about that one extra degree or that one extra step that each of us can take individually to make the team the best it can be.

We have been tearing it up in these pre-season workouts, and we can’t wait to show all of you GymCat fans what we are made of. It is you who makes competition such a wonderful experience for us, and we can’t thank you enough for showing us so much love. See everyone in a couple of months! GO CATS!
