Walnut Creek, Calif. -

Four Wildcats have earned All-Academic honors as announced by Commissioner Larry Scott on Thursday. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be a significant contributor.

Earning a spot on the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team is Andre Vidaller. The sophomore from Santos, Brazil is a Pre-Business major and has a 3.67 overall GPA. Vidaller competed primarily in the No. 2 slot while also participating in the No. 1 spot. While battling an injury Vidaller remained an important contributor as his positive attitude and team spirit never wavered.

Making the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team is sophomore Mario Urquidi. The El Paso, Texas native is a Business Management major at Arizona and has earned a 3.47 overall GPA. This season, Urquidi competed primarily in the No. 3 slot with contributions in the No. 2 spot as well.

Receiving honorable mentions are Frank Chen and Kieren Thompson. Chen, a junior from Houli, Taichung County, Taiwan, participated primarily in doubles competition and remained a constant support of the team. Thompson, a sophomore from Brisbane, Australia competed primarily in the No. 5 slot where he was a consistent strength for the Cats.

"The guys have worked very hard in the classroom all year," said head coach Tad Berkowitz. "They take their studies very seriously and I am extremely proud of them for that."
