TUCSON, Ariz. -University of Arizona Wildcat women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Arizona State Friday night in the State Farm Territorial Cup match up on Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.

Before the match, senior goalkeeper Ashley Jett was honored for her dedication to the Wildcat squad, as were undergraduate volunteer assistant coach Brittany Cole, and team manager Collin Robinson.

Sophomore forward Jazmin Ponce led the Wildcats with four shot attempts, one of which connected with the back of the net in the 76th minute to equalize at 1-1. Junior Kristin Griffin recorded a pair of shot attempts for the night, including on shot on goal. Juniors Kristyn Magyar, Ariel Boulicault, Susana Melendez, and sophomores Ana-Maria Montoya and Samantha Cummings, and freshman Julia Glanz made on shot attempt apiece toward Arizona's 12-shot total.

"It was a hard fought rivalry game," head coach Lisa Oyen said. "Jazmin Ponce had a great goal, and it was a good effort on both sides."

In goal, Jett picked up five saves for the night, including four in the first half, to bring her season total to 85.

For the Sun Devils, Arizona State's Sierra Cook scored both goals, the first in the 14th and the game winner in the 85th.

Arizona kept an advantage on corner kicks for the third straight match with five to Arizona State's (8-11-0, 4-7-0 Pac-12) three.

For the 2011 season, the Wildcats finish with a record of 1-16-2 overall, 1-9-1 in Pac-12 Conference action.
