Freshman Alicia Hollowell has been named Co-Pitcher of the Week for April 28-May 4. Hollowell shares the award with UCLA's Keira Goerl. Over the weekend against No. 15 Stanford, Hollowell posted a 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA.
She pitched 14 innings and struck out 19 batters. In the Cats, 6-0 win over Stanford, Hollowell had her ninth one-hitter of the season and her 11th double-digit strikeout performance.
On the season, Hollowell has a 32-3 record with a 0.71 ERA. Hollowell has struck out 308 batters in 226.2 innings. She moves to No. 3 on the UA record charts for strikeouts in a season and No. 8 for strikeouts in a career.
This is the fifth weekly award for Hollowell and the 81st all-time weekly honor for the Cats. Hollowell becomes the first Arizona pitcher to receive the award five times in one season. Susie Parra won the weekly award four times in 1994.
The Cats will take on UCLA on Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m. and Washington on Saturday, May 10 in a doubleheader at 6 p.m.
