TUCSON, Ariz. -
Arizona’s No. 29-ranked women’s tennis team will return to Robson Tennis Center to take on conference newcomers Colorado and No. 44 Utah. The Wildcats will face the Buffaloes on Friday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m. and the Utes on Saturday, April 14 at noon.
Arizona is looking to continue its undefeated winning streak at home this season and extend its 10-0 record.
The Wildcats (12-8, 2-5) are coming off a challenging stretch of road matches against four of the nation’s top-10 teams after falling to No. 4 USC and No. 1 UCLA last weekend. Despite the losses, Arizona achieved some success, including sophomore Lacey Smyth (Oceanside, Calif.) and senior Natasha Marks’ (Notthingham, England) defeat of the nation’s No. 2-ranked doubles team at USC.
Colorado (7-11, 0-7) is looking for its first Pac-12 win after falling in its last five matches. The Buffs are led by Kristina Schleich at the No. 1 singles position.
Utah (9-9, 1-6) earned its first Pac-12 win last weekend with its victory over No. 44 Washington in Seattle, Wash. The Utes are led by No. 47 Anastasia Putilina, who was recently named Pac-12 player of the week after earning two wins at No. 1 singles versus Oregon and Washington.
