Head coach Niya Butts and the Arizona women’s basketball team (11-8, 3-5) will return home this weekend to host Washington (14-5, 6-2) and Washington State (6-13, 2-6). The Wildcats will welcome the Huskies on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. and the Cougars on Sunday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m.

Fans are invited to wear red for national “Wear Red Day” to create awareness about heart disease, which is a leading killer in women.

In addition, Arizona will host its annual “Wag Your Tail in McKale,” in which fans are invited to bring their dogs out for the game. All dogs must be properly trained and up to date on all shots and vaccinations to participate.  All dogs in attendance will receive free nail trimming, teeth cleaning, and will be able to participate in an “Arizona Wildcat-themed dog dress-up contest.”

UA is coming off a stretch of four road games in which it defeated Utah, but fell to Colorado, UCLA and USC.

Senior Kama Griffitts (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) is also averaging in double-digits at 12.1 ppg.

Junior Erica Barnes (Sacramento, Calif.) is leading the team in rebounds with 6.1 rpg.

Sophomore Aminah Williams leads the Huskies in rebounding with 11.2 rpg.

As a team, Washington ranks in the top two in the Pac-12 in four categories. The Huskies are first in 3-point field goal percentage (.344), first in 3-point field goals made (8.2 ppg), first in turnover margin (+4.8) and second in 3-point field goal defense (.264).

Washington State is led by freshman Lia Galdeira, who averages 14.1 ppg and 5.1 rpg. Sophomore Tia Presley also averages in double-digit scoring with 13,3 ppg.

As a team, the Cougars rank third in the Pac-12 in three-point field goal defense (.282) and steals (9.9) and fourth in turnover margin (+1.6).
