TUCSON - University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf completed day one of the Bruin/Wave Invitational in Santa Clarita, Calif. on Monday. The Cats sit in second place with a 292 (+4). The three-round, three-day event is being held at the Robinson Ranch Golf Club (par 72, 6,282 yards).
"The team did well today but we couldn't seem to make any putts," head coach Laura Ianello said. "I am confident we will do well tomorrow and on Wednesday. Isabelle (Boineau) played great and will hopefully get her third win of the year. Margarita (Ramos), Nikki (Koller) and Alejandra (Llaneza) are looking to score low."
"I'm very proud of my freshman Haley Andreas for her first round today," Ianello said. "She has been working hard and it is paying off. We need to make some birdies to put us closer to the lead for the final day."
The hosting UCLA Bruins lead the team race with a 281 (-7). San Diego State rounds out the top three with a 295 (+7). Individually, UCLA's Glory Yang leads with a 69 (-3).
