The Arizona softball team (31-3) fell to Cal State Fullerton, 15-3. In the first game of the doubleheader, sophomore Jackie Coburn hit her ninth home run of the season to help the Cats to a, 5-2 win. Freshman Alicia Hollowell pitched seven innings and struck out nine batters. Hollowell gave up eight hits, the most in her career.
In the second game of the doubleheader, junior pitcher Wendy Allen gave up nine hits and 10 runs. The Titans jumped to an early, 4-0 lead in the first inning. The Cats didn't score a run until the fourth inning when senior Lovie Jung hit her 17th home run this season. Cal State Fullerton's Krista O'Hanian hit a two run home run in the fifth inning and the Titans went up, 9-2. Cal State Fullerton scored six more runs in the sixth inning.
The loss to the Titans snapped the Cats 17-game winning streak. Arizona hasn't given up more than three runs this season.
The Cats fall to 31-3 on the season. Arizona continues action at home on March 28, when they play Oregon State at 7 p.m.
