TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Arizona rebounded from its two losses last weekend by taking out Portland, 6-1. The Wildcats started the day strong sweeping the doubles matches to take the point. Arizona then went on to take five of the six singles matches. The Wildcats Roger Matalonga sat out the match.

 

In his first match at the No. 1 position, Jeff Groslimond defeated Matt Loucks in a two-set tie breaker. Claudio Christen was able to get a win at the No. 2 spot defeating Portland’s James Redpath in straight sets. Scott Kennel collected Portland’s only point on the day, winning over Bruno Alcala in three sets.

 

In the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 positions, Jason Labrosse, Peter Zimmer and Francois VanderMerwe were all able to win easily in straight sets.

 

Arizona will host San Diego State on Sunday, March 19, at noon.
