Wurm, a sophomore from
“She had a great, great meet,” head coach Bill Ryden said following the meet last Saturday. “She was really on tonight. I’m very happy for her. We had seen this meet coming from her for a while now.”
Wurm, who has competed as an all-arounder 11 times in her career, totaled a 39.4 in the all-around last week, as the Wildcats knocked off their second-consecutive ranked opponent, and fourth of the season. The all-around mark is the highest from any Wildcat gymnast since Monica Bisordi recorded a 39.5 at the Pac-10 Championships on March 20, 2004. The mark shattered her previous career-high of 39.25, which she set twice this season.
On vault, the 5-4 gymnast shared the individual title with teammate Bree Workman. The score of 9.9 was well above her season average of 9.735, and broke her previous career-high mark of 9.825. It is her third vault title of the season, and her eighth Top-5 finish in the event. The score helped
On bars, Wurm scored well-above her season average of 9.745, earning a 9.8. The score was good enough to tie for second place in the meet, and earned her a sixth Top-5 finish in the event for the year, and 11th of her career.
On beam, Wurm broke her previous career-high of 9.775, with a second-place mark of 9.9, above her season average of 9.643. The score helped

Wurm becomes the third Wildcat to be named Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week this season. Previously, juniors Aubrey Taylor (Jan. 24-30) and Jamie Holton (Feb. 20-26) have been honored.
