AUSTIN, Texas--The Arizona women's golf team again battled harsh weather, cold temperatures and rain during the final two rounds of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational Tuesday to finish in ninth place at 966.

Duke won the tournament championship with a three-round team total of 68-over-par 920. Individually, Janice Olivencia of Texas claimed medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 5-over 218.

"There was nothing good happening today," head coach Greg Allen said about the near-freezing temperatures in Austin. "The conditions were brutal."

Three Wildcats wrapped up play in the tournament at 26-over-par 239 to share 24th place. Junior Laura Myerscough closed the tournament with a final-round 75 to claim a share of 24th. Joining Myerscough in the tie for 24th were senior Cristina Baena and freshman Miriam Kraschinski.

The top-25 finish marks the sixth time in seven events this season that Myerscough, from Charleston, Ill., completed a tournament in the top 25. Tying for 24th place also marks the highest-career finish for freshman Miriam Kraschinski.

"Laura had it going today until the rain came in," Allen said. "But the weather just took too much out of everyone. The weather was everyone's biggest obstacle to shooting a good score today."

Freshman Mar Garcia battled injury and wound up in a tie for 54th place in just her second collegiate tournament, completing play at 249. Senior Cathie Williamson completed the Arizona lineup and took 67th place at 256.

Arizona returns to the Grand Canyon State for its next event as they travel north on April 5 to in-state rival Arizona State for the PING/ASU Invitational. The tournament held at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz., is the Wildcats' final tuneup before they open postseason play at the Pac-10 Conference Championships in Walla Walla, Wash., on April 22.
