TUCSON, Ariz.-The Arizona women's golf team are rated third in the Oct. 22 edition of the Golfweek/Sagarin performance index. Sophomore Erica Blasberg, who has won her last three tournaments, leads the Wildcats and is rated second individually.
The Wildcats have a rating of 72.21to trail only Duke and UCLA. Duke stands in first with a rating of 69.82. UCLA with a rating of 71.98 holds the second position. Auburn (72.27) and California (72.38) round out the top-five.
Blasberg, performance rating of 69.66 puts her only behind Duke's Elizabeth Janangelo (68.72) whom holds the first spot. Blasberg won her third consecutive tournament this past weekend at the Pepsi-Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. where she tied for first with Janangelo.
The Wildcats take the course next in the Hooters Collegiate Match Play in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Nov. 2-4.
