Tucson, Ariz. (Sept. 23) -- A four-goal second half gave the University of Arizona women's soccer team a 4-1 come-from-behind victory over UNLV (2-3-2) at home on Sunday. At 3-1-1 on the year, the Wildcats have already reached last year's win total.

UNLV's Annii Magliulo put the Lady Rebels on the board early, denting the net just five minutes into the match, but neither team got much going offensively through the remainder of the first half, as UNLV had only a 4-3 edge in shots for the period.

The second stanza was a different story altogether. Freshman forward Candice Wilks broke the shutout barely three minutes into the second half, taking a serve from fellow freshman Cassie Daniels. Sophomore forward Liz Bartlett scored the go-ahead goal at 56:57 on a rocket shot over UNLV goalkeeper Alice Gleason's head.

Wilks scored her second goal of the game at 74:07 off a double-assist by Daniels and fellow freshman Vanesha Bailey. Senior midfielder Katie Winship capped the win for Arizona by dribbling through the Rebel defense to find the back of the net with just 30 seconds remaining in the game. Sophomore midfielder Sierra Cristiano was credited with the assist.

Senior goalkeeper Shannon Monti played all 90 minutes in the nets for Arizona, collecting three saves as the Wildcats out-shot the Rebels, 19-14. Rebel keeper Gleason had six saves in the game.

With its current four-game unbeaten streak, Arizona has now set a new school record for the longest stretch without a loss. The Cats have racked up 20 goals over the first five games, which is the same number of goals the team had all last season combined.

Arizona hits the road next weekend to begin a six-game road swing. The Wildcats play at Brigham Young on Friday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. MDT, then they take on Utah on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. MDT in Salt Lake City.
