TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona women's golfer Alison Walshe was eliminated Thursday at the 2007 U.S. Amateur Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.

Walshe, a senior-to-be from Westford, Mass., was defeated, 4 and 3, in her third round match by No. 27 seed Kimberley Kim of Hilo, Hawaii.? Walshe held an early 1-up lead after three holes before Kim squared the match on No. 5 and grabbed the lead for good with wins at Nos. 6 and 7.? Kim sealed the match with wins at No. 10 and 14.

Earlier in the day, the No. 11 seed Walshe defeated No. 22 seed Catherine O?Donnell of Pontre Vedra Beach, Fla, 6 and 5.? With the match all square through three holes, Walshe won five of the seven holes, three with birdies, to take control of the match.? Her par-3 on No. 13 ended the match.

The 107the U.S. Amateur Championship runs through Aug. 12.? Crooked Stick is a par-72, 6,595-yard layout.
